Bram, month 6November 4 to December 3 A real swimmerBram and Wilma now follow a weekly swimming course at the YMCA in which children up to 2,5 years are introduced to the water. Bram is the youngest of all and also the most enthousiastic one.......no fear at all. In the meantime the bath tub at home is too small, and only will do as an alternative because the water in there is warmer, which he prefers.. ;) Another thing that my fellow-mothers and the teacher were surprised of: Bram is not shy at all. He thinks it is okay when the teacher shows the other moms what to do, using him and smiles and grins to everybody that is nice to him. It appears that his social skills are born into him.....grin! Bram completely enjoys himself in the water: he splashes about and this is something his therapist and his pediatrician like very much, because (like with more nice things) it's also very good for him. Bram is very sure about what he likes and dislikes ;-)Bram still won't take a bottle: mam seems to be better or something like that. He likes his solids though, so that doesn't give us worries. Mamma keeps trying him on the bottle though, because one day he will have teeth..... PediatricianOn November 26 2001 Bram again only got good news at the pediatrician's office. Again he grew nicely and compared to other babies he still is lean and tall. His development level still is reason for optimism, still being up to date. Some numbers: This time Bram got 2 shots again, for the first time he openly protested to this ;-) Fortunately he again got some very cute bandages and he was happy soon afer. Before we left the nurse and doc got a big grin again. In two months we have to go again for an inbetween visit and in 3 months for the 'big one'. Further observations:Bram is doing very well at sitting and needs very little support with that now. Also we have started promoting crawling. He seems to be interested and that we use to exercise him a bit...time to start child proofing ;) His fine motor skills are coming along nicely too and he still is a very enthousiastic mover. By this time we even find him when he wears his sleeping bag on his belly in his bed, something he couldn't do a couple of weeks ago: turning wearing this. Also he pulls his knees under his belly when he lays on his belly. When he lays on his back or when he sits up, he is continously busy with his feet: eating them, watching them, just holding them. This is so cute to watch. © Wilma & Erik van de Pol, 2000-2008 |
