Vera started the Dutch preschool

Vera started at the "klokhuis", the Dutch school that is closeby. For some time it was confusing for her to have an additional school, but at the time I picked her up again, she told me right away that she wanted to go back again. She had participated great and had had a wonderful time according her teachers. She has 2 very nice teachers and a bunch of same age kids to play with.........using Dutch for a change. From now on Vera will go to this school once a week.

Vera started preschool

Today Vera started school, called the Baird Center. She needed to get used to it at first, but soon loved it. Starting today she will go 2 mornings per week, for 2 hours to this school.

Bram's school started again

Today Bram's school started again. This was great for everyone, Bram just loved getting back to this routine. The only downside was that the buscompany that is supposed to drive him, did not pick him up. Apparantly 6 weeks was not enough notice to get the addresschange implemented.......

Handing in the key

Today we had to hand in the key of our old house. The landlord was happy with the way we left the house. When we wanted to go home again, the car refused service: the starting motor had given. Fortunately we were started by a very helpful neighbor and we were able to get home.

Moving day

Today the movers came. The old house has been emptied and our things have been transferred to our new house. When we saw everything neatly packed in the truck, we were quite impressed by how much stuff we have, even though we had been throwing out things.

Herewith also thanks again to Andrea and Michele, who have been extremely helpful by taking Bram and Vera for an extended playdate today. This way Bram and Vera had a good time on this hot and long day.

It is fun to notice that (again) we feel so much more "at home" now our things are here.

Bram was so tired that he fell asleep at just about his regular bedtime. As soon as he noticed being in his own bed and with his own stuffed toys, he dozed off.

Vera had more trouble finding sleep. We had left her door open, so that she could hear us, we had to set up our bed again as well. At one point she said "Vera is ok" and turned over to fall asleep.

For us the time of unpacking and organising has begun.
